Affiliate links
Free Melbourne Weekly is in the GetYourGuide Partner Program and the Klook Affiliate Program. On some pages we show a small, clearly labelled box with optional paid tours on GetYourGuide or paid tickets and tours on Klook. If you book through one of those links, we may earn a commission. You don't pay any more because of it.
We may also join other travel and shopping affiliate programs in future (for example tour, attraction-ticket or online-shop programs). If we do, the same rules apply, and we will update this page.
How paid links are marked
- Every affiliate link sits in a box labelled Paid tour option (affiliate link), Paid option (affiliate link) or similar, kept apart from the free lists and after the free content.
- Pages with affiliate links say so near the top: "Some links are affiliate links; we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you."
- Affiliate links are tagged
rel="sponsored"for search engines. - Instagram posts that include affiliate or paid content will use Instagram's paid-partnership label.
The free listings are never paid for
Nobody pays to be in our free lists, and affiliate programs have no say in what we list. Every free listing is checked on an official source and is free to attend. A paid tour or ticket is never called free, and a commission never changes what we call free.
Paid features for organisers
Organisers will be able to pay for extra promotion of a free-entry event (see Advertise). Paid placements are labelled Featured (paid) on the site, Sponsored in the newsletter, and carry Instagram's paid-partnership label. Listings in the free lists are never paid for, and paying never makes a ticketed event count as free.
