Free Melbourne Weekly is a new, hand-checked guide to free things to do in Melbourne, on Instagram at @free_melbourneweekly and on this site.

Honest numbers: we launched on 31 Oct 2026 and we're still building our audience. We don't quote follower or reach figures yet, and we'll share real stats once we have them. The prices below are low to match.

Launch pricing (AUD)

OptionPriceWhat you get
Free listing$0Your free-entry event in the weekly list on the site (and considered for Instagram), after we check the source.
Featured listing$10 / weekPinned near the top of the weekly hub and on the relevant guide page, labelled "Featured (paid)".
Instagram Story$30One Story frame about your event on @free_melbourneweekly, with a link sticker and the paid-partnership label.
Instagram post$60One feed post or carousel about your event, with the paid-partnership label. Includes a Featured listing that week.
Newsletter slotComing soonA labelled "Sponsored" spot in the Thursday email, once the newsletter is live.

Launch pricing: rates will change as the audience grows, and bookings made at launch rates keep them for that booking. Paid features are only for free-entry events (or $0 with free registration). We still check every event, and we can say no to anything that isn't a good fit.

Launch partners wanted

We're looking for our first few Melbourne launch partners: markets, venues, festivals, councils and local businesses running free events. Launch partners get a free Featured listing and an Instagram Story in exchange for honest feedback. Spots are limited.

Email us to feature your event

Or email hashgadhi+freemelbourneweekly@gmail.com. We'll reply with dates and how to pay before anything is booked. Nothing is charged automatically.

How paid features are labelled

Paid placements are always labelled ("Featured (paid)" on the site, "Sponsored" in email, and Instagram's paid-partnership label) under the Australian Consumer Law and the AANA Code of Ethics. See our disclosure page.
